Although it’s one of the smallest hot hatches on the market, the Ford Fiesta ST has always had a lot of street cred. Since all ST and RS models have been folded into the Blue Oval’s Performance division, however, the automaker’s performance cars have become even more potent. By the looks of things, the 2018 model unveiled in Geneva this month will be no exception.
Although Ford remains mum on some details, such as suspension and brakes, they certainly have our attention with the engine. While the last Fiesta ST rocked a potent 1.6-liter four-cylinder, the new engine will be a 1.5-liter turbo with three pots, and can even go down to two in some situations. Power output sits at 197 hp, and around 202 lb-ft of torque (the official numbers haven’t been released).
